Through way of love and commitment to family and education, comes the Dan & Otelia Starks Scholarship Fund.

The Mission

The Dan & Otelia Starks scholarship fund was founded in hopes to provide financial assistance to the descendants of Dan Starks Sr and Otelia Starks. The aim of the scholarship is to help to further the education of descendants who graduate high school ,those attending college or those who attained a general educational diploma (GED). The age of the applicants will be any high school graduate, college student or GED recipient up to the age of 22 years of age.

This scholarship comes through the efforts of Andrew Starks Sr. (Uncle Bunny). It has been his desire to somehow assist the young descendants of his family with some funding to attain a higher level of education. An education is extremely important to him, and this has been his desire for many years . All funding will be solely provided through Andrew Starks Sr.

  • Following your submission, there will be a 3-panel committee consisting of JoeAnn Starks, Lisa Jackson, and David Harris who will oversee the selection process, and the amount of funds each student will receive.

  • Any questions please direct them to the committee members only. At no time should Andrew Starks Sr. be contacted. Failure to abide by these rules will result in termination of an application.

  • Any approved funding is only applicable for a specific semester. An application must be resubmitted for any subsequent semesters.
